UN-REWRITTEN HISTORY

Let's start by making it clear: For the first time in recent history, The United States of America was attacked on its own soil...the Twin Towers on 9/11.

Contrary to what some would have you believe, we were not attacked because we had a greater or lesser presence in some Middle Eastern country.

We were not attacked because we had engaged in some military action on foreign soil.

We were attacked because a large segment of a very vile and hate-filled religious belief system saw us as "The Great Satan," and believed that they were scoring points with the Moon God (whom they call Allah, and whom they try to make us believe is "just another way of expressing the God we all serve.")

We went to battle these vile types in their county (Afghanistan), for the expressed purpose of keeping them from doing it again.

They were driven from their country and given safe-haven in another land, and they were rendered basically ineffective, at least for the time being.

While driving them from their country we got word from what should have been trusted sources, sources that were trusted by former President Clinton, Presidential hopeful, Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, and many other Democrat leaders as well as many Republican leaders, that Iraq was planning or helping to plan similar attacks against us with WMDs (weapons of mass distruction).

That it turned out not to be the case (according, at least to some) is irrelevant, in that everybody thought it WAS the case.

So we launched a preventive strike.

It, so far, has worked.

Now we are not the bad guys here.

In fact, seven times we Americans have taken arms and sacrificed the blood of our troops, in the defense of Muslims ( Bosnia , Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait , etc.), who had not really done anything to deserve our defense.

In the course of war, things are sometimes done that should not be done.

A reading of the Bible reveals that sometimes when Israel faught and/or won battles they disobeyed God and took spoils they should not have taken.

When you are dealing with such huge numbers of human beings, things happen.

That does not excuse them, it just recognizes that not everything is perfectly controlled all the time, precicely because we are human.

And so there are sometimes atrocities committed by segments of armies.

Some armies cut off the fingers of prisoners.

Others apply high voltage to inappropriate portions of anatomy.

Women prisoners are routinely raped, beaten and tortured.

But not by our troops.

There are no documented cases of that kind of torture committed by US military personnel.

There is "waterboarding," about which there is political argument as to whether it is an appropriate form of interrogation, but that does not even come close to the horrible things mentioned above.

How does our treatment of prisoners fare overall?

We give them three meals a day, sanitation facilities, exercise time, and time to exercise their religious belief system, by devotional time, prayer time, and even by providing them with free copies of their religion's sacred book.

How terrible of us!

Do we subject them to interrogation?

You betcha!

And well we should.

These are not nice, reasonable people. They are people who will do their best to kill anyone, including you, who subscribes to the American Dream, thinking that by killing us they will gain favor with their God.

Here are some facts to consider:

We were attacked by Islamic Arabs.

Most Arabs and Muslims have to live under savage dictatorships.

The majority of them are poor, because their governments take all they have.

Their governments breed hate for the US in their religious schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.

The U.S.A. is the biggest financial supporter of poverty stricken Arabs, while wealthy Arabs blame the U.S. for all of their problems.

Some Arab governments pay the families of suicide bombers who sacrifice themselves trying to rid the world of "The Great Satan."

The governments that encourage suicide bombers think babies, pregnant mothers, the elderly and a vast aray of citizens are fair game.

Muslim extremists have killed more Arabs than any other group, including the U.S.A.

Terrorists take refuge in "holy sites," knowing that Americans respect those sites so much that we are reluctant to persue them there, yet those same terrorists are gleeful when one of our holy sites is damaged or destroyed (think: Sait Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in NYC).

Now we have people who think we should withdraw from our war on terror by withdrawing troops from Iraq.

"We're turning it into another Viet Nam," they say.

They are insane.

They, in fact, would be guilty of turning the war into another Viet Nam by doing what their kind do...quitting before the job is done.

Not one of them is any better on any level than the terrorists.

anonymous: See, I really love comments, and some of yours were up there with the best of them, but you have a case of blogdundancy...you are repeating yourself.

It really only takes one entry for some of us to get the point...one well taken, by the way.

Plus, there was a little more emphasis on "hate" than I care to allow.

I think there are some of all faiths who are very sincere (sincerely wrong, but sincere)and do not eminate hatred, just ignorance.

For us to respond to their ignorance with such an attitude of hatred is the very essence of hatred, which we cannot, as Christians, afford.

Try again, if you like, and see whether you can say what you mean without the extraneous rhetoric.

Dear Joe,
SO sorry to have offened you. I do not hate the sinners, rather only the rotten deeds of darkness itself, and whom it glorifies. My mind set tries more to think as Jesus did when he saud: "Lord forgive them for they no not what they do."

I'm just a cut to the chase type of person who reads Jihad completely on a Spiritual level. My husband is being fired on by the Taliban, insurgents, drug lords, and even the farmers who own the Opium fields on a daily basis with machine guns, mortars, RPGs, rockets of all sizes and he's had 17 near misses like a miracle of God protecting him for the past 2 months now all over the Helmand ProvidenceIand back and forth to Kabul.

I'm just trying to reiterate what my Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa has taught me through the past 25 yrs. of which in His Spirit I bare witness to be of the most sound and intellectual teachings I have ever heard and that one could certainly trust.

Sometimes such reasonings and prophetic teachings are mentioned over Pastor Charles A. Smith's radio station called "The Word for Today" and with each teaching it is filled with so much of Christ's love that a lost soul is drawn to hearing more and more as he is gifted in teaching God's Word that is completely non-judgemental.

As for myself I;m no speaker and I'm certainly not a writter; and i have never gotten anything like this (blog you call it?) to ever even "SEND" (because there's always some catch that you have to sign up for some subscription, and then I don't know how to even fill this stuff out right, and I don't want to have to pay money to make a comment or be anymore spammed anyway. This is all new to me.

My response to yours was the first time anything I've written ever even "SENT" ( I've only tried to send a comment 3 X before in the past 6 months and it was a waste because it never even SENT!)

Likewise with my attempt to respond to yours I had to type in some weird coded letters and push "SEND"... and THEN THE CODES AND EMPTY BOX WAS RT THERE AGAIN!

I thought this re-appearance of the code letters and empty Box meant I didn't type the CODE letters in there correctly... so I had to keep trying several times before I ever noticed some faint sentence on the top saying "It will post shortly" of which I never saw that sentence before.

( Right here AGAIN this Mac is messing up. putting the next paragraph in the wrong place. a paragraph that i thought was competely lost, so I has to try to remember what i said and redo it) Right here like this>>> I THOUGHT IT MEANT THAT FOR "SOME REASON" I HAD ANOTHER OF THOSE SCAM TYPE DEALS, WHERE I GO TO ALL THE TROUBLE TO RALLY SUPPORT FOR ANOTHER, ONLY TO GET SOME HUSTLE TO SIGN UP FOR SOMETHING AND THEN MY COMMENT NEVER "SEND" ANYWAY.

COMPUTERS ARE VERY FRUSTRATING FOR ME-- AND AS I SAID MINE IS FULL OF VIRUS', OVERLOADED I'M TOLD AND NEEDS TO BE CLEARED BACK TO ZERO LIKE TOMORROW.

As far as my response repeated, well I'm just learning computers on a MAC that is so messed up it jitters and crashes every 2 minutes AND MAKES MY PARAGRAPHS JUMP AROUND AND BE IN COMPLETELY WRONG PLACES!

YOUR COMMENT SHOT ME DOWN. I'M JUST A EXTREMELY TIRED HALF BLIND OLD WOIMAN WITH FIBROMYALGIA WORRIED SICK ABOUT MY HUSBAND BEING A TARGET EVERY SINGLE DAY IN AFGHANISTAN, AND HAS A BURDEN FOR ALL THE LOST MIDDLE EASTERN PEOPLE CONTROLLED IN A DECEPTIVE CULT. THEY ARE GOD'S CREATION AS WELL AS HIS BELOVED CHILDREN. GOD WILLS THAT NONE BE LOST.

I SHALL NOT EVER BOTHER WRITE ANOTHER COMMENT EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE, AND SORRY YOU FELT THE NEED TO PICK ME APART TO JUDGE AN IGNORANT HURTING PERSON.
I PRAY THE LORD WILL CONTINUE TO USE YOU FOR HIS GLORY.
HERE I GO AGAIN! MORE OF THOSE CODE VERIFICATIONS.

GOD SPEED

P.S. I tried everything i could think of to erase the repeated responses, even darkened it and pushed delete- but that didn't work. I know NOTHING much at all about computers and can barely even see to type my hunt and peck style of typing. Im so sorry it was so bad. I feel much more worse then you say my response actually was. I had just hoped to be a sower of seeds in truth.

Only God knows the intentions of my heart

anonymous: See...you did it! I was not offended, just concerned about the tone.

Congrats on mastering the "no-repeat" on your computer.

I listen to Chuck Smith every morning on the way to the Christian radio station where I work.

He is always a blessing.

Thanks for trying again.

Hi, Joe,

I just wanted to point out one thing that is kind of unfair to Islam in your post -- the reference to "moon god". I know this is circulating among Christians through e-mails -- my dad's forwarded something on it to me twice, and I've pointed out the problem both times (he forgot the first time!). No Muslim believes in a moon god. My understanding is historically the Arabic word "allah" did mean that, but that has no bearing on its meaning today. A fact of language is that it changes over time -- they can become more positive (amelioration), more negative (pejoration), more general, more specific, or simply different. "Shirt" used to mean "skirt" centuries ago for example, and look at the more recent change in meaning of "gay."

I haven't looked up the history of the English word "god/God," but the Germanic tribes (which produced English and other language) were pagans before being reached with the Gospel, so I can almost guarantee you that our word used to refer to some other god. The same is true of Slavic languages (my speciality), where the word is "bog" -- I seem to recall it used to refer to a tree god or something. Muslims in Bosnia usually refer to their god as "bog," the local word for God. If I were an Arabic-speaking Christian, I would refer to God as Allah. It is simply the Arabic word for "God."

Don't get me wrong -- I'm a Christian who believes Scripture, no man comes to the Father but by the Son. Of course Muslims have a very different understanding of God than we do, and more importantly than that, they don't have Christ. There are plenty of ways we can contrast Islam and Christianity accurately, so I always cringe when I see the "Muslims worship a moon god" statement. They don't -- they worship a single creator god as we do, in a sense more of a point of similarity. Muslims who might be willing to hear about Christ will shut their ears in deep offense if we say they worship a moon god.

Of course, I've spent many words on a tiny phrase from your post, and I should say I really appreciate the gentle Christian spirit that is evident in you, especially in your response here to "anonymous," who clearly sensed it as well. We need more of that spirit in the "Christian" blogosphere. Thanks for letting me drop by.

Joe, I think America is under attack everyday on its own soil. It may not be as blatant as 9/11, nevertheless it is just as deadly.

From the shipment of illicit drugs, to the domestic production of immorality and many other vices, Americans are dying in far larger numbers than that one attack 7 years ago now.

Radical Islam is only one tool in a growing arsenal of weapons used to erode the strength and wealth of America. The only way to stop this plague is for God's people to begin to live holy as we ought. Only by being the true salt and light can we have any hope of repelling the evil and decay.
