I LOVE BLOGSURFING

There is no way I would ever get on a surf board. Not only could I not stand up on one (never mind that it would constantly be yelling at me, "Get off, you big oaf!"), ever since the movie, "Jaws" I have been nervous about venturing into the ocean.

However, one sport I love is "blog-surfing."

I visit my favorite blog and then visit all of the blogs on its blog roll.

I was over at The Doctor Is In (The Doctor Is In ) and clicked on a commenter's back-link (or whatever you call it).

What a reward!

This has to be one of the most unsung, overlooked blessings in the blogosphere!

I really enjoyed it.

WHAT A RELIEF!

Five years ago, the Christian radio station at which I worked was sold to a local man who had always wanted and prayed to own a Christian station.

He felt that when he was able to buy WJYO and WBIY from Toccoa Falls College, God had answered his prayer.

What God calls you to, God equips you for...that is an eternal absolute.

If God does not equip you for a task, He does not call you to a task.

The man who bought the station understands business.

He does not understand ministry.

If Christian radio is not a ministry, it is worthless.

Business says, "I'll do this for you if you'll do that for me."

Ministry says, "What can I do for you in Jesus name?"

Funny thing is, when a ministry is operated as a business it struggles and ultimately fails.

When a ministry is operated as a ministry, it succeeds.

If a "ministry" is failing, the best course of action is to discover how to conduct more ministry related to its mission.

This particular Christian radio ministry is struggling, mostly because it is conceptually not a ministry, it is a business.

Too bad.

As I stated in my previous post, I have disassociated myself from the radio station.

My plan (which I believe is God's plan for me) is to take a week off (which I have not had in years), relax a while and see where God leads.

Many of you know that I have had health issues, specifically with my heart. I've had heart attacks, atrial fibrillation and stents inserted in my arteries.

Each time the CEO of the station went into one of his patented rages over an issue, my chest would begin hurting. This past Tuesday he had one and I went into atrial fibrillation.

Yesterday was my first full day of unemployment, and I must say it was the most peaceful, day I have had in five years, even though I was very busy all day long.

Today I feel the same. I have energy to do what I do, no chest pain at all, I am rested, and spiritually in tune with God through Christ.

It is a glorious day!

Thank you for your prayers. I covet them to continue as I seek God's plan for my future, whatever that plan is.

A CAREER ENDING MOVE

Over fifty years in ministry and 27 years in Christian radio has come to an end today.

The man who owns the station, a historically volatile person at best, came in today wanting to know what went wrong with a program.

I did not know the answer and said I would have to investigate, and would probably have an answer by this afternoon.

That did not satisfy him and he went into a tirade, which set my heart into atrial fibrillation.

I am not afraid to die, and would gladly die for my wife, my country and/or for other just causes, but I will not die because of some one's inability to control their anger.

So I resigned my post as Production Director at the Christian radio station at which I work.

I don't know how I am going to make it economically, or what God's next move in my life will be, but I'm going to take a few days to consider it before making a decision.

Please keep me and my sweet wife, who agrees with my decision, in your prayers.

We will need a lot.
